Introduction to GPS

A GPS unit gives the user location information received from satellites that are orbiting the earth. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of GPS and then taken outside to gain hands on experience using a GPS unit. Students will then learn to integrate the location information collected by the GPS unit into a GIS system.
