GIS/Data Center Student Assistant

The GIS/Data Center is looking for a student assistant to help with a variety of GIS and map initiatives.
This is a good opportunity for the Rice University students to get involved in the geographic information systems environment, improve their computer skills, and earn some money.
Duties include creating technical documents, hands-on exercises, and brochures; helping people to use GIS/Data Center facilities such as the plotter, printer and CD burners; assisting with an inventory of a large map collection; and assisting GIS/Data Center staff in the creation and processing of datasets and customizing GIS and web-based applications.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Windows and MS office is required. We prefer existing skills in GIS software and at least one programming language. Training will be provided.
