The Cambridge Structural Database System (CSDS) is provided as a service by the Fondren Library and the School of Natural Sciences to faculty, researchers and students at Rice University. The license of this application stipulates that its use be restricted to members of the Rice community.
Your account to use this application will be created on a computer system under the School of Natural Sciences. In order to be issued an account, you must agree to the following terms:
- •I agree to use the account only for access to the CSDS and related applications, and for transferring data files created or collected during the use of the CSDS between this computer system and my workstation.
- •I will not share my account. Sharing includes (but is not
limited to)
- •revealing my username and password to others
- •leaving a workstation logged into my account in a public or semi-public area (e.g. in a lab, classroom or shared office)
- •I will not use this computer system for purposes other than access to the CSDS and related applications. (These other uses include - but are not limited to - email and web browsing.) I will not use this computer system to connect to other hosts.
- •I understand that individuals using this system without authority or in excess of their authority are subject to having all their activities on this system monitored and recorded or examined by an authorized person, including law enforcement, as system personnel deem appropriate. I understand that the activities of authorized users may also be monitored and recorded in the course of security monitoring or system maintenance. Any material so recorded may be disclosed as appropriate.
I understand the University reserves the right to take action against users who violate this agreement, including (but not limited to) the right to terminate their accounts on this system.
I understand that users of this account are subject to all terms of the Rice "Appropriate Use of Computer Resources" policy.
