Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) -- Provides current and historical (state and national) data, research, and information about women officeholders and candidates.
Center for Legislative Archives -- National Archives center that preserves and makes available the historical records of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Also offers online finding aids useful in conducting congressional research.
A Century of Lawmaking for a New Nation: U.S. Congressional Documents and Debates 1774-1875 -- Library of Congress site that contains records and acts of Congress from the Continental Congress and Constitutional Convention through the 43rd Congress.
Conference Reports -- A compromise on legislation negotiated between the House and Senate via conference committees. Conference Reports are printed and submitted to each chamber for approval or disapproval.
Congressional Collections at Archival Repositories -- List of Internet sources which provide information about congressional holdings by name of institution or organization.
Congressional Directory (Also see Congressional Pictorial Directory) -- Offers short biographies for members of the House and Senate. Lists committee memberships, terms of service, administrative assistants and/or secretaries, and room and telephone numbers. Also contains information about other Federal departments and agencies, court officials, military establishments, governors of states and territories, foreign diplomats, and members of the press.
Congressional Earmarks (OMB) -- Provides information about earmarks, Congressional funds for projects or programs that circumvent the normal merit-based or competitive allocation process.
Congressional Email Directory -- Organized by state.
Congressional Hearings -- Searchable database of current Congressional hearings. Check site for archival holdings.
Congressional Record -- Serves as the official daily record of the proceedings and debates of the United States Congress when in session. Check site for archival holdings.
Congressional Record Index -- Recent years include links to Congressional Record text. Check site for archival holdings.
Congressional Reports and Documents (U.S. Serial Set) -- Contains House and Senate Documents and Reports, Senate Executive Documents and Reports, treaty materials, presidential communications to Congress, and selected pertinent publications from the executive department and non-government agencies. Check site for archival holdings.

- CRS Reports (Thurgood Marshall Law Library) -- Includes reports on terrorism and homeland security and health and law policy.
- CRS Reports (UNT Libraries) -- Provides access to many CRS reports gathered from the Web sites of members of Congress and non-profit groups. Search by keyword, title, author, subject and report number. Browse by subject.
- Open CRS -- Contains reports obtained from members of Congress and various agencies. Also contains Fugitive Reports, a listing of titles still desired.

FedNet -- Access to broadcast coverage (real-time and archival multimedia information) of Congress, Federal Agencies and the White House.
GovTrack.us -- Open-source independent tool to track the status of current U.S. federal legislation and legislative records from 1993 forward. Provides a Visitor Q&A which allows visitors to the site to ask a question about a bill for other visitors to answer.
GPO Congressional Publication Releases - Provided by the Law Librarians' Society of Washington, D.C. Reveals new titles available from the GPO Congressional Sales Program and the GPO Access Hearings database.
House Hearings -- Comprehensive listing of Committee Meetings (1985 to present)provided by North Carolina State University.
House of Representatives Web Site -- Contains basic information about House members and committees including legislation sponsored, committee assignments and committee schedules.
The Legal Process: North Harris College Learning Resource Center's guide to the process by which a bill becomes a law. -- Includes both print sources and links to Internet sources.
Legislative Sourcebook-- (Law Librarian's Society of Washington, DC). Contains information about Congressional documents, reports, and hearings. Provides current status tables.
Legislator Information for Rice University -- Contact information for both state and federal legislators for the Rice University area.
LexisNexis Congressional -- Provides full-text access to historical (from 1789) and current U.S. Congressional publications including committee hearings, committee prints, Congressional Research Service reports, the American State Papers, the Serial Set (House and Senate documents and reports, Senate executive reports and treaty documents), Serial Set maps, Congressional news, and information about members of Congress and Congressional committees. Accessible to the Rice community or at the Library only.
Lobbying Database - Maintained by OpenSecrets.org's Center for Responsive Politics. Search by name for a company, lobbying firm or individual lobbyist; search for the total spending by a particular industry; search for the total spending by lobbyists on a specific issue; or view the amount spent to lobby a particular government agency.
LOUIS (Library of Unified Information Sources) -- Makes available in a fully searchable printable text format seven sets of federal documents dating back to 2001: Congressional Reports, Congressional Record, Congressional Hearings, Federal Register, Presidential Documents, GAO Reports, and Congressional Bills & Resolutions. U.S. Congressional Bibliographies -- Enumerate and describe meetings held by Congressional committees since 1985. Authoritative and exhaustive source of meetings held and documents released by House and Senate committees.
U.S. Congressional Serial Set Finding List (The College of Wooster Libraries) -- Use to find House and Senate documents & reports from the 15th (Dec. 1817)- 91st (1969/70) Congresses by agency, Superintendent of Documents call number, or serial set number.
